JOY!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Angel Tree

The Angel Tree ministry has so many stories but I love this one: there were three sisters all in our Angel Tree program, one was in foster care, one lived with a grandparent, and one lived with an aunt. Teresa Foote was so excited because she was going to be a table host and one of her Backyard Bible children was going to be coming. Unbeknownst to Teresa, so were the other two sisters who hadn't seen each other for over six months. The party came and Pastor Gary seated all three of these girls at the same table - what a wonderful Christmas. They were able to stay and have their own Christmas with the gifts that "dad" had provided for them and enjoy each other. Talk about God's hand being on this ministry!

We have delivered Christmas trees to someone who wasn't even going to have that; food boxes where needed; heaters for those without heat, seeing the needs and filling them. So many of us have been blessed by either the party and/or delivery.

SOUND THE TRUMPET:  ASSEMBLING THE TROOPS FOR PRAYER

The Bible says that we are stronger together.  That is nowhere more true than when it comes to prayer.  When we unite together in prayer God uniquely responds because He loves unity (Ps. 133:1-2).  So for the next seven weeks we are inviting you to unite in prayer.  On our website will be our own Prayer Wall.  We will be collecting your prayers and celebrations of God’s answers.  You can visit the prayer wall daily as a family or at the office and join our entire family as we Sound the Trumpet and assemble the troops for prayer.

How do you get your prayer or praise to us?  prayer@fbcsalem.org or text to 62953 (put sfb in the message and then your request).

Snow update-

It was hard to cancel all of our services last weekend.  But safety won out.  We were excited to know that our Website and FB communication worked so well.  Most of our congregation checked the website for up-to-date information about our services.  In our effort to increase communication it is good to see when it works.  Thanks for helping us.

Just so you know--church is on this weekend.  We kick off with Saturday night all the way through Sunday night.  I look forward to seeing you at one or more of our services.
Pastor Mark
